Living in Seignosse all year round, you quickly discover that there's a lot more going on than you'd expect if you only come for the beaches. Between the village patron saint festivals, the summer night markets, world-class surf competitions just minutes away, open-air concerts and Landes food events, 2026 is shaping up to be a packed year. Here is my personal, annotated calendar so you don't miss a thing.
Important note: this article is updated throughout the year. Exact dates may change — I always recommend checking with the Seignosse Tourist Office before making plans.
Why this calendar?
I've been living in and welcoming guests to Seignosse since 2018. Every year I get the same questions: "what's happening in August?", "are there any festivals during our stay?", "is the surf competition worth seeing?". This calendar answers all of these, month by month.

Spring 2026 — the season kicks off
Spring in Seignosse means the return of sunshine without the crowds. The beaches are still quiet, restaurants reopen one by one, and the village finds its rhythm again. It's my favourite time of year to surf without the crowds and explore the village in its true colours.
From May onwards, the beaches are lifeguard-patrolled at weekends, then every day from June. This is also when the markets get busier and the first night markets appear.
Summer 2026 — peak season
In summer, everything picks up pace. The night markets at Seignosse Océan, the village festival around 15 August, open-air concerts, bodegas and children's entertainment turn the village and the beach into a bustling summer community.
My tip: set aside at least one evening for the Fêtes de Bayonne in late July (40 km away) — it's one of the biggest popular festivals in France, drawing over a million people across five days. Dress in white and red — it's tradition.
Autumn 2026 — the real surf season
The pros on the world tour (WSL) arrive in Hossegor–Capbreton in September-October for a leg that attracts thousands of spectators. The swell is clean, the water is still warm, and you can watch the world's best surfers from the dunes. The atmosphere is something special — I go every year.
Winter 2026 — mild and peaceful
Winters in the Landes are mild (rarely below 5 °C) and perfect for walks through the forest, along the beach and around the nearby villages. The Christmas market in Seignosse and the village light displays are well worth a visit, even outside the summer season.
Practical information
Most of these events are free to attend. For surf competitions and village festivals, plan on parking a little further out than usual. In Seignosse village, the central car park fills up quickly on market and festival days.
During your stay at Uhaïna House, you're right in the heart of the village — so most village events are within walking distance. For those held at Seignosse Océan, Hossegor or Dax, you'll need the car (or a bike for the Océan).
