Nicolas Ormart, co-owner of Uhaïna House

Co-owner with Charlène of Uhaïna House, father of two, I write the articles on the News blog to share what I know about Seignosse and the southern Landes coast.

My background

Between Seignosse and Saint-Lary — two places I know inside out.

I bought the house in Seignosse in 2018 with Charlène. We renovated it first, then extended it when our children came along. For several years we lived here full time — welcoming family, spending entire summers with our feet in the sand, learning the tides and the surf spots alongside the village regulars.

Today we split our time between Seignosse on the Landes coast and Saint-Lary-Soulan in the Hautes-Pyrénées — two villages I love equally, and where I've ended up knowing just about everyone. It's this dual perspective — sea and mountains, summer and winter — that feeds the articles I write here.

Why these articles

Sharing real life in Seignosse, not a tourist brochure.

Standard guidebooks list the must-sees. Here, I try to pass on what I wish I'd known before moving to the Landes: which market for oysters, which beach depending on the wind, when the village comes alive, which events are genuinely worth it and which are just tourist marketing.

When I write about a place, I've been there. When I recommend a restaurant, I've eaten there. When I talk about a beach, I've surfed it or taken my kids. It's this first-hand experience that underpins every article on the blog.
